I’ve been overweight literally my whole life. I’ve tried things like cutting out junk food and doing intermittent fasting but nothing has really made a big difference.

I even tried fasting recently thinking ok this has to work and yeah the scale barely moved. It’s super discouraging and feels like no matter what I do my body just fights me.

I’m only 25 and I really don’t want to be stuck like this forever. I’m starting to think maybe it’s something with my hormones or metabolism or maybe I’m just doing it all wrong without realizing it.

If anyone has been through the same and actually managed to change how did you do it. I’m open to literally any advice at this point.

I’ve attached photos of myself within the past few years I think since about I’ve been 16/17. I genuinely don’t know what to do I’ve honestly just got bigger and bigger and my mental health is taking a toll. (Blurred family for privacy btw)

I was obese as a kid and for a good portion of my life. I lost weight without ever doing intermittent fasting or any of that dumb shit simply by calories in calories out.

It’s not sexy.

It’s not easy.

But damn it fucking works. Start walking outside every day(about 4 kilometers a day around the block, at a brisk pace), and eat in a 700 calorie deficit, track everything you eat, and lift weights 4,5 times a week so you lose fat instead of muscle(and because it looks like you have zero muscle and you don’t wanna end up a skinnyfat cuck JFL)

If you have any more questions i’d be glad to help you out.

I’m gonna respond to you because you’re one of the few that didn’t just say “yeah it’s easy bro”.

I don’t even know where to start for a real diet to be honest, I try to walk around the field at a highschool behind my house but I just get burnt out super

Honestly just too afraid of social anxiety plus I don’t think the gym would help me at this weight.

“Social anxiety” Believe me, nobody at the gym cares about what you are doing, real life ain’t tiktok. Heck people gave me ADVICE when i got started and couldn’t do a single pullup. It’s a positive space unless you’re going to the local prison’s gym.

First thing you do is find your bodyfat percentage using this website. Find a tape measure, weigh yourself, and figure it out. The estimate it gives you ain’t perfect but it’s close enough.

Next use that data and plug it into here to find how many calories you need a day:

mf the gym helps at any weight an nobody gives a shit of what you look like. go to the gym ONCE and decide if your gonna start working out or just rope if your dont want to actually work on yourself

if you really cant do it naturally, try retatrutide

1 - calories in vs calories out is all that matters. Our bodies do not care about when the calories are eaten, what the calories are comprised of, or anything other than just the energy inside of the food you consume.
2 - Hormones won't change this - there is no hormone in the human body that naturally fluctuates from any diet trick or whatever that can boost weight loss/halt it. Obviously excluding peds/other pharma solutions, which would be a bad idea (except for maybe a few peptides).
3 - Metabolism hardly fluctuates. Your genetics do not make you fat, they do not change the amount of fat you burn in a day, they do not make you retain more fat from food, anything you could think of genetically, it does not apply here. The ONLY way genetics matter is a VERY VERY small difference in calories burned daily between some ethnicities/people. We're talking 3-5% a day on the high end.
4 - Yeah, calories are annoying to track. It seems like there's so many ingredients in foods, too many calories in foods to eat a sizeable portion, etc. You got to include some whole foods - really. Just putting healthier foods that have less calories per unit of weight in the house will cause you to eat less calories. Your body doesn't tell you that it's full because you've eaten a certain amount of calories, it tells you that you're full when you are literally full of food. This could be a tub of ice cream for 2,000 calories, or a meal made from 4 eggs, roasted veggies, assorted fruit, and maybe some meat for half of that at the most while being 10x more nutritionally dense.
5 - You can increase the calories you burn every day. Our bodies are machines, like it or not. A machine requires energy to function. Currently, you've consumed a lot of extra energy, which is now stored as fat, like a battery. To drain the battery, you need to run the machine for some time while consuming less energy than you require to function (so you draw energy from the "battery"). You can drain more energy by increasing the energy output of the machine, by walking, moving things, literally any action that you could possibly do will burn energy.

You could not be fasting and gain weight at the same time, either you don’t know what fasting is or when you were in your eating period you ate too many calories.

Just quit being a fatfuck and count your calories, you can literally ask ChatGPT what’s your maintenance calories at any desired weight.
