Why did Hitler try to take over Europe? Germany was 99% ethnic German at the time, he could have just expelled the Jews and his problem would have been solved. Instead he decided to take on all of Europe with the exceptions of Italy and Bulgaria, of course the Axis lost the war.

If you think about it hitler was a globalist, not a nationalist, if he was truly a nationalist he would have cared about Germany and Germany alone. As a result of his invasion Germany as well as the rest of Europe will be ethnic within the next couple decades.

The plan was initially to retake some of the land in Czechoslovakia and Poland that had German minorities, and eventually to gain more "Lebensraum" in Eastern Europe. The war against western Europe was not intentional (Western European countries declared war on them, not the other way around).

Correct, Hitler initially just wanted to move the Jews out of Germany and not experience their domestic agenda. As a result, all of the international Jews became hostile towards him. From my understanding Hitler looked up to Napoleon and thus wanted to build an empire for the German people because the nature of nazism is built upon a mythology of conquest in order to unite it's people (basically it needed to invade people in order to survive).
