Struggling to understand why I have gained weight (0.55kg/1.2lbs) since yesterday. Was hoping someone with a science/active background could give me some pointers.

Meals:

Breakfast:
-> courgette and mascarpone linguine (372 cal)

Lunch:
-> wholemeal pitta (278 cal)
-> hummus (307 cal)
-> pea protein slices (112 cal)
-> crunchy corn (93 cal)
-> sweet chilli sauce (31 cal)

Dinner:
-> salmon sushi (704 cal)
-> soy sauce (37 cal)
-> ginger (39 cal)

Overall Caloric Intake: 1973

Exercise:
  • Walking (60 mins, low-medium intensity)
  • Gym (chest, 60 mins medium intensity)
  • Cycling (30 mins high-medium intensity)

Based on my height/weight, I would have been operating within a caloric deficit without accounting for the exercise.

Any feedback/advice is much appreciated.

Best.

Will have eaten over ur maintence or gained a load of water

Take average weight rather than weight track it over a week after waking up and pissing and shitting

Day by day measurements are pretty useless because weight fluctuates a lot.
Maybe try doing it weekly.

this.

Even when losing weight I might go a few days with no change then suddenly drop a pound and stay there. Idk the science behind it.

Hard workout causing extra water retention perhaps?
Food timing is different?
Foods are different, perhaps more voluminous?
More salt and fluid retention?
