My teacher didn't learn my name. Even by spring semester she still couldn't address me without saying, "Argghhh, don't tell me, I've got it!".
One day the teacher and the students sitting at the front were talking towards the end of the class. They were discussing a Netflix show. They were describing the acting of the cast, and my teacher was able to name the actor or actress behind each character.
How come she knew the names of people she will never meet, who live thousands of miles away, and she has only watched them for a single Netflix season?
But she didn't learn the name of a student in her class she taught multiple times a week for half a year?
