Based on this photo I think it’s a pretty good improvement. Subtle yes, but he goes from looking deformed to looking normal. I think the projection was a bit conservative and he would have had stronger results with a bit more projection.

I also don't think it looks shit. I think it was to fix a deformity and it looks NATURAL. I think looking NATURAL (and not everyone looking at your face and realizing you had implants) is the ultimate goal of surgery.
