nesting mentality. i could never do that. my mindset is i could die at any moment, my house could burn down any time. spending money on posters, souvenirs, memorabilia, etc would be wasting money i could put into food or things that help me survive
everything i own fits inside the trunk of a car. the rest of my net worth is completely hidden in bitcoin. i don't care about owning a house, i just need a sleeping bag and a cheap car.
if i get something for free, via crime, looting, gifts, or bilking the government, i immediately sell it.
i have browsed many estate sales for arbitrage opportunities, it's always very morbid, these houses have been already cleaned out by surviving family of the most valuable items and it's still chock full of crap. you can't take that with you when you're dead or you have to leave your house for extended periods, i cannot tolerate spending money on anything that isn't food, ammunition, or escorts
