When I was like 7-10 years old I had way more success with girls than I do now, and I definitely didn’t look better back then. The difference is back then I had way more presence. I could do backflips, I dressed better than most guys in my grade, I was visible and not self-conscious. Girls didn’t seem to care that much about facial structure or overanalyzing looks. It felt more about who stood out, who had energy, who felt “cool” in that small environment. (Just how it is in nature) As they get older it feels like the standards shift. Looks get analyzed more, height matter more, and there’s more long term thinking involved. It’s not even that standards just “increase,” it’s more like the way they evaluate changes. Curious if anyone else noticed this shift or if I’m missing something.
