Why do guys in crime movies always drink whiskey and talk in weird accents

Ima give a quick example of a random scene you might see

Two guys are sitting at a booth in a bar as some slut sings on stage.

“You got the money?” One of them says after taking a swig of whiskey.

The other guy looks at him coldly and removes an envelop of cash out of his jacket pocket and hands it to him.

Some random slut waitress comes by and says something like “hey honey need another shot? It’s on me” all sensual, and the guy has no reaction and just takes a wad of cash and flicks a few bills and throws them on the table and tells the other guy:

“I don’t wanna see you around here again. Next time….you’re dead.” Takes one more swig of whiskey and take a cigar out and walks out with his body guards that sound like Russians or Italians
