Why do lat pulldowns exist when you can just do pull ups?

Dunno but my lat pulldown max is actually less than my body weight so must be some difference.

Imo exercise should be trying to replicate real movement
Calisthenics replicates that more, like swinging from trees, even tho humans aren't built for that
But working out isn't really natural anyway
My new routine is just doing bodyweight exercises throughout the day rather than a workout

Most do not have the patience to do negatives and rush them. Also pull ups are almost impossible for fatties. Lat pulldowns are better for initial mind muscle connection and learning how to pull with your back instead of arms.

But even veteran gymcels can barely do pullups. It is extremely hard to do them well.
 
Just add weight to pull ups
Or use a fatter bar
Or pull to your lower chest
still easier to do with a machine & how is making the grip more of a limiting factor gonna help progressive overload your lats:lul:
 
Because it’s easier and I don’t wanna do pull ups
