A lot of post-punk and dark techno bands (even dark trance and SCHRANZ) monthly listeners on Spotify are heavily inflated by Latinos in cities such as Medellin, Bogota, Santiago, Mexico City (and if you consider Los Angeles, CA as a tacocel hotspot). I thought they're a happy bunch?

Like Siouxsie and the Banshees have 2M+ monthly listeners, but this figure is heavily inflated by spics.

It’s partly due to their Indian and Pakistani ancestry

cant agree. most latinos seem to love that reggaeton sound.

dark-techno is mostly liked by autistic highIQ nonNT white people.

It's literally the same beat, the only thing that changes are the singers. Every year that passes it gets more difficult to understand what their mouths are blabbering because they get drunker and drunker while the time passes.

I can't stand that stuff everytime cars pass with it on. I'd rather listen Talmudic recitations on bucle at this point, that would make some real dark stuff surpassing black heavy metal and not some bolivian telling us how he managed to make his "mamasita" (Mother) sleep with him. Dude like that's some incest going on.

Could be bc latinos tend to be hyper nt so the ones who are not nt feel even more left behind and bc of that gravitate towards that music?

Idk tho I'm a metal/grunge/hardcore fan this is just my guess

Don't get me wrong people no beef with latinos. We are all indians from different continents at the end of the day.

those artists aren't 'dark-techno' whatsoever, but mainstream tiktok hard-techno.

this tiktok hard-techno style is the most popular form of techno out there, most played on festivals, most mainstream, attracts the instagram attention-whores, teenagers, very young public, etc.

its basically what EDM was in the early 2010s. That's the tiktok hardtechno which is exactly the type of music sara landry, 99999, allignement produce.

9x9 used to make dark acid-techno in the past but his modern-style is completely commercialized for the mainstream masses, biggest festivals, etc.

Also you're speaking from a dutch perspective; what is considered entry-level is different there than here. Entry-level is Sammy Virgji, Wilkinson, etc. As a Brit the music you described is considered niche. Here the EDM scene is more DnB, deep house, jungle, etc.

schlar is hard-groove techno and daxJ is industrial hard-groove/hard-techno. Definitely quality names and non-mainstream. Respectable music taste and 2 of the better techno-artists out there.

mirin latino zoomer music-taste if they like these 2 names.

could be.

dutch mainstream (festival) music tends to be on the harder side. hardstyle, hardcore, frenchcore, hard-techno, etc. These are mainstream music-tastes here and your average zoomer teen will be into it.

Marc Arcapidane is getting VERY popular with zoomers because of that 1 track. He was a legend in the gabber scene.
To be honest, I much prefer EDM on the continent. Even my music playlists reflect that jfl.
Meanwhile here, the mainstream is all about groove. I showed my music to a friend and he asked me wtf was sara landry JFL

Apparently Schlar is popular in kangarooland JFL. How come?

Exactly. They love Noom Records in the 1990s as well

What are your thoughts on Xina Mora, Rotterdam Terror Corps, Nico Moreno, Mandala and Joey Beltram

techno is still a niche relatively speaking because most people don't even go to or like festivals and so they don't even know about the music.

even in the netherlands only ~25% of young people use hard-drugs on a regular basis. Meaning 75% don't necessairily like festivals and places where hard-drugs are used extensively.

hard to believe. chlar is niche asf.

only know nico moreno of those.

I like his old sound but I dislike his current mainstream commercialized tiktok hard-techno style.
Too many DJs have sold themselves out.

exactly. I don't go to festivals but I'm just a nerd who likes hard EDM.

I've never done drugs either jfl, never will. But I happen to have the music taste of a druggie :feelskek::feelskek::feelskek::feelskek:

I don't even know this is mainstream on tiktok. In the UK this is still considered niche jfl.

I agree with that, especially if you remember Tiesto in the 2000s who switched from trance to pop JFL

nothing wrong with that. I already loved techno and EDM before I ever used drugs. It's just that the combination of this music with drugs is incredibly strong.

This type of music goes incredibly well with drugs.
i mean is that popular? chlar is not a headliner act in any way like charlotte de witte, adam beyer, sandra landry, etc. are.

Thanks bhai. It's good music to do work to or workout to. Or car jams.

I'm not into drugs as it's haram, but tbh even as a teen I gravitated towards EDM just like you did. Maybe it's because I was always more of a things-oriented introvert.

And it shows:

In Australia yes. I'm assuming these are asians (since Asians love EDM in Australia and the West Coast of the US)

See that’s what I mean when Latinos who don’t live anywhere near Europe have been picking up techno often confined to parts of Europe jfl

I’d suggest Bae Blade, Chlar, Anetha, Tham, VTSS and Yanamaste
