Why do men laugh at me but women stare at me?

So I'm on holiday in Singapore and one thing I've noticed is that I get stared at a lot. I am 6'3/191cm and I've legit only seen one person here taller than me and they were a foreigner so maybe that's why? I also have auburn hair. I notice that the men here (Chinese and indians) will stare and sometimes they'll smirk or laugh but the women will just stare at me and then look away once I see them.
