I’ve heard so many people discuss about reincarnation and actually believing it’s the legit Religion and I didnt really pay attention to that till today. Is this because reincarnation gives people hope they can escape the fate that awaits after death,do they want to be Chad after the next death, are yall bhudists,is there credible proven evidence, are they anguishing the life they have right now and wish whatever life they have is a new start.

The concept of reincarnation—the belief that the soul is reborn into a new body after death—is deeply rooted in Indian religious and philosophical traditions, particularly within:

1. Hinduism

Reincarnation (called punarjanma) is a core belief. According to Hindu philosophy:

  • Every living being has an atman (soul), which is eternal.
  • The soul is reborn in different forms (human, animal, etc.) based on karma—the cumulative result of one's actions in past lives.
  • The ultimate goal is to escape the cycle of rebirth (samsara) and attain moksha (liberation or union with the divine).

2. Buddhism

Buddhism also teaches rebirth, though it differs in its interpretation:

  • There is no permanent soul (anatta), but a stream of consciousness continues.
  • Rebirth is driven by craving, ignorance, and karma.
  • The aim is to achieve nirvana, ending the cycle of suffering and rebirth.

3. Jainism

Jainism has a strong focus on reincarnation:

  • The soul (jiva) is bound by karma.
  • Liberation (moksha) is achieved by shedding all karma through strict ethical behavior and self-discipline.

4. Sikhism

Sikhism believes in reincarnation, but emphasizes:

  • Union with God as the final goal.
  • Liberation is achieved through devotion to God, meditation (Naam Simran), and righteous living.

Cultural Beliefs

  • Many Indians today, regardless of religion, often believe in the continuity of the soul or rebirth.
  • Stories of people remembering past lives occasionally surface, and while some are treated skeptically, others are seen as affirmations of reincarnation.

If you're interested in scriptural sources, philosophical arguments, or modern cases of reincarnation in India, I can provide more detail on any of those aspects.

The question is for those that weren’t born into “reincarnation” based religion what made them believe reincarnation is the truth

its not religious, its the nature of atom and probability.

This is true but, your cell dies and you technically are the universe around you but there’s clearly something that science can’t explain aka the soul/spirit.

i dont believe in such concepts

1) this forum is like Toronto: half of it is filled with indians, so naturally a lot are Hindu and believe in reincarnation

2) most people are just joking. When they say “Oh ropemaxx and reincarnate as Chad :soy:” they don’t actually MEAN it :feelskek:
