Why do people deny/dislike the idea of looksmaxxing

Normies immediately get repulsed when they hear the term "looksmaxxing", why are they so bluntly rejecting the idea?

Do they fucking think being ugly is good? Are they afraid of the community or the unconventional methods it suggests to improve aesthetics? Definitely the latter, but simply taking care of yourself is also considered looksmaxxing so why are they making such a fuss about it

You can see how people who argue against looksmaxxing have very weak/no real arguments to support their stance and they're just desperately coping because they're in denial and they don't want to swallow the blackpill. That or because of the social stigma surrounding LM

But I understand your point. Also a lot of people would rather live a sweet lie but now they've been shown a glimpse of reality which contradicts normie body positivity shit so they're just coping
