Self diagnosis is the first step to an actual diagnosis in many cases—including mine—but in of itself can't be sustained without professional evaluation. I started noticing my ADHD traits at 18 and a year later started buying medication on my own, and it worked: I got more productive, attentive and less overly hyperactive. Months later I went to a psychitrist and got my diagnosis, was a big win since finally the hell inside my head could be treated more properly.

Now, two months ago I got another diagnosis, by a neuropsychologist that further confirmed my condition.

I take the highest dose of medication there is available, which suggests my symptoms are severe. The medication helps, but can't free me completely, it seems. Plus I feel like I have a composite of inattentive with hyperactive, with maybe some slight predominance of hyperactivity.
