Why do people raise awareness about China as if it’s going to do anything?

why do people “raise awareness”, it’s Not gonna do anything. Literally. Nothing, Not a single thing. China isn’t like iraq, you can’t sanction China because the economic effects on China would have ripple effects on the entire world, so much so to where a global recession can begin as a result.

This is why trade shouldn’t of been opened up to them. Making them the worlds factory has given them 100% full control over their citizenry. They can do anything they want because the business elite in every country have stakes in China. They can’t let their cashcow get harmed.

Anyone with half a brain saw this coming from a mile away also. China has been a dictatorship since it’s inception. Those neo-liberals Who whore for free trade are now “raising awareness” from the comfort of their homes with Chinese made products. Absolute ignorance.

Agreed. Manufacturing jobs being brought back would lessen the power of the Chinese government AND provide employment centres to rust belt towns that got hit hard in the recession.

unfortunately, even if manufacturing was pulled back from China, the effects wouldn’t hamper the Chinese government much. They have TONS of wealth and are even exporting manufacturing to africa / other neighboring countries. They’re already in the beginning stages of transitioning to a high income / upper middle income economy.

It’s too late to stop them now. They’ve been given a chance and they pounced. The only way to stop them is to take them down through sanctions. The world economy may go down with them if that happens though

Russia isn’t the 2nd strongest military anymore. They’re the 3rd if not lower. They were 2nd/1st during the days of the Soviet Union but those days are long over. Their naval capability is non existent, while China has 2 aircraft carriers and is building 5 more within the next 10 years.

Their airforce is good but the Chinese airforce is quickly bridging the gap. The russian army is good but the Chinese military is decent, rapidly improving and has the advantage of sheer numbers.

China was a paper tiger in the early 2000’s but they aren’t anymore. They’re serious now. They’ve been dumping hundreds of billions into R&D/military development. Their tech is quickly improving. I don’t wanna sound like a China fanboy but they aren’t some weak nation with a big population. They’re a threat that needs to be taken seriously. People not taking China seriously is the reason why they’re so big now
