Why do people with higher status have higher IQ srs?

The obvious guess would be that they inherited their position from their genetically superior parents whom obtained the wealth because they were smarter themselves, but that still doesn't really explain it. What exactly does the typical CEO do that warrants a 130+ IQ? Would a 100 IQ CEO really be that much worse? And isn't obtaining this kind of position more about looks&nepotism than anything?
