Why do people yap about muh custom plates here?

The surgeon I consulted said they use custom plates only if there's a very specific reason as they are more expensive. He mentioned he can contour stock plates to his liking during surgery.

Why do people endorse custom plates so much?

Probably because it will help the surgeon stick exactly to the 3d plan, provided he is comfortable and familiar with custom guide plates.
