It doesn't make any sense at all, in fact, it's super cucked to do it and also childish, not just because worshiping anyone is childish by itself, regardless of who you're worshiping, but also because the character per se has no redeeming qualities.
What qualities does Patrick Bateman have? Let me think...
- Being good looking? Well, it's not a merit of him being born with good genes.
- Being rich? Born in a rich family is, again, not a merit of him.
End of the list.
In fact, it's the total opposite: the guy has 0 redeeming qualities, he's a total psycho.
He got mad because his business card is not as pretty as his work colleagues - wow, that's super childish! It's like a kid being pissed of because his school friend got a better game console than him.
He killed a homeless black dude and said he was trash - when Patrick himself wouldn't be that much different from the homeless man if he was born in a trailer park.
He killed a child - I don't need to say more (that happens only in the book).
He has no "unique personality" - not just him, but all his rich "friends" in the business field, that's why so many people confuse them in the book and movie, they are all generic posh rich men, with no soul.
Having said all that, it brings me to the last point: if Bateman was a real person, in this real world, he would look down on the incels that worship him, he would call them losers, trash, he would kill them. Worshiping a guy like him while being an incel is super cucked, it's no different from being a simp, it's no different from being poor and licking rich people's balls, thinking that acting that way you'll be part of their social circle.
The sjw are right in one point: incels/alt right have a hard time understanding the message of the movies, books, series, animes... they consume, that explains why you have racist X-Men fans, boomers that love Roger Waters, and Incels worshping... Patrick Bateman. They get hyped by the visuals, storytelling of these medias, but forget about paying attention to the message, about the reflection that these products want to pass to the audience.
