Why do teenagers today look so old?

I see so many high school aged kids that look like they are mid 30s almost. I was ready to ask this girl out because I thought she was 35. I found out she was a high schooler! When I graduated high school in 1997, we all looked like baby faced teenagers. Why do kids today look as old as I do? My theory is all the GMO's or they are pre-mature ageing from other facts. Girls are reaching puberty at 9 years old and boys are 6'2 in the 8th grade.

More estrogens in environment cause girls to enter puberty earlier. As for men idk about them being more masculine, there are more cucky looking teens than ever
