Thin skin = more angular features, but also worse aging.
I think diet is a huge factor as well. Lots of Americans/Europeans/Australians drink tons of beer and have a bad diet. Even most Europeans have a subpar diet (Southern Europeans might be an exception). Hobbies like tanning and being outdoorsy in general are all bad factors.
