I have never been to Denmark, but the reasoning is universal. The superficial reason they will provide if asked is that there are a lot of jobs that need to be done that the native population will not do, that is mostly a lie. It is true that the native population would rather stay home and do nothing than work some crap job at crap wages, but if you raise the wages high enough you will find people to do almost all the work. You might think that the elected officials would be more sophisticated and make grown up decisions about such things as immigration, but many politicians on both the left and the right are pro immigration, but more so on the left. On the empathy driven left they want to be seen as saving ethnics, they think a multicultural society is a good thing, and they know those ethnics will eventually vote for leftists once they get the right to vote. On the right, large business interests, that only care about short term profits, benefit from a cheap supply of labor.
