Why does my dad cough so loud and so frequently?

This guy does it on purpose. He is always coughing and ridiculously loud, with an exaggerated "uh-heuh!" sound.

It's not even like an unhealthy sounding cough and he's been doing it for ages

Just a ridiculous habit with no consideration for others
