Why does the average person have a slightly recessed maxila?

So basically everytime I am outside nearly every noticible cl/chad has amazing forward growth while the average mtn has a recessed/slightly recessed maxila.

But what confuses me about this is are humans not made to be attracted to the “average” feature in a face? So then why is an unideal feature so prominent?
