Why does the type of material that a implant is made up off matter other than long term durability ?

Does it seriously affect the aesthetic results of the face ? like the material itself shouldn't matter for aesthetic outcomes it makes more sense for it to matter for durability reasons.

r there other material than silicone currently available?

Med por titanium there were more cba to check most if not all are concerned with durability and stability rather than any soft tissue misplacements which comes with fillers creating a fake look

peek implants or bust.

peek = bone?
no, peek is Polyether ether ketone. It has excellent mechanical and chemical resistance properties that are retained to high temperatures. So durability will not be a problem, considering silicone implants erode and break apart after a period of time i;e 5 years

There are some minor ways they could directly and indirectly effect aesthetic outcome:

Low-durometer silicone could give a softer look. However most silicone facial implants are high-durometer (about the hardness of a pink pencil eraser) and can create a very chiseled look. Yaremchuk called into question the hypothetical, albeit slight, possibility of implant material compression under the soft tissue forces particularly under the masseter muscle in a 2018 PRS Article. It’s unlikely but unproven, and any that does occur would be very slight and soft tissue would gradually expand to the forces of the implant - a silicone implant will not be permanently “squished” because of its material deformation property which means even after being subjected to great forces it its original shape.

Low-durometer Solid Silicone is appropriate in certain places like temporal implants and submalar implants (which hang off the bone, over the masseter)

Flexible implant materials do not lock into place during placement, they slip and slide and can be more difficult to place into the exact planned position. So in this way a custom PEEK implant gives advantage.

About the durability,
Silicone does not fracture and if compressed, instantly returns to its intrinsic shape.

PEEK will only fracture or compress under very intense forces which would probably be deadly anyway.

Medpor can be fractured and be permanently compressed by forces that people do encounter in real life like being struck by a fist or solid weapon, car accidents, falls etc.
