A student-group in my university offered cheap MIG/MAG welding courses, was like 15 hours in total. I did this a few years ago.

Shit was absolutely scuffed cuz I had no protective gear (except the mask) whatsoever so I would go here with an old hoodie which I didnt mind getting dirty.
While I was welding, sometimes when the sparks would hit my clothing it would catch fire and I had to stop and slap it to stop the fire JFL. I had very minor burn-wounds cuz my hoodie kept getting on fire.

also with the mask on u cant see fucking shit so u keep having to put off the mask, so u can see anything at all, and then put the mask on again and ur fucking blind
