When people have success in life they want to attribute it to something, if people constantly compliment your skin or muscle mass then you’ll start thinking that’s why (insert positive thing) happened,
this type of thinking is dangerous when looksmaxing because improving an already existing halo is very difficult and usually decreases not increases your looks/quality of life
Unfortunately (or fortunately for us) I would say 95% of people think this way, bodybuilders obsess over their traps and quads when in reality it’s their face. Skincare addicts obsess over their pores that no one even notices when it’s their recessed maxilla, you get the idea, many people with true bdd (obsessing over an already positive characteristic) are actually coping over what is truly bottle necking them.
If you’re concerned about one of your traits you know to be above average take a step back and ask yourself if that’s really the problem
