Why facepulling is cope, and why you need to take more extreme measures.

I've seen many guides on "face-pulling" over the years, here is why it's complete cope:

1. NO Stable Force Anchorage

"What does that mean?" you ask, it means you're not using any anchored, stable platform to apply controlled force directly onto the bones. When you "facepull" by biting a towel or belt and pulling forward, your neck flexes, your head tilts, and most of the tension is lost in soft tissues. You're not putting pressure on the maxilla or sutures

Bottom line: no solid anchor = no skeletal movement

2. DIY Pulling is Uncontrolled and Misaligned

Orthopedic change requires precise force direction, amount, and duration applied consistently over long periods (no shit lmao)

Face-pullers usually try to pull forward and upward for a few seconds (often around 5 seconds), but this falls far short of what real bone remodeling needs because:

  • Force direction: While the intent is forward and upward, without proper anchorage the force vector is unstable and inconsistent. Your head and neck shift, dispersing tension instead of focusing it on the maxilla and sutures.
  • Force amount: The tension applied by hand pulling is minimal and unmeasured—nowhere near the steady 150–500 grams of force needed daily to stimulate bone growth.
  • Application time: A few seconds per set, a handful of times per day, is not close to the 12–16 hours of sustained force required for effective changes.

facepulling= waste of time reactionbait that gained popularity.. somehow

3. No Palatal Expansion = No Forward Movement

Before the maxilla can even move forward, you need to unlock the mid-palatal suture. This is usually done with a palatal expander, especially during early puberty.

If your palate is still fused (which starts around 14+ in many teens), it becomes nearly impossible to move the maxilla forward without expansion, even with a real face mask. let alone your hands

facepulling = pushing on a bolted shut door

Bottom line.

no hope in saving ur fucked maxilla if your past puberty without surgery :feelsbadman:

(if this gets enough attention ill make a thread on how to increase projection and expansion of maxilla during puberty)

Anyone who is saying that this works is trying to sell you something and anyone who believes this is just misinformed and wasting their time
