Even if you find a good song, usually that artist will have like 3 to 4 good songs maximum. They aren't legendary/replay worthy. You can listen to them on repeat for maybe an hour or so then it ain't good.

Nothing worse than finding a mogger song by a small band or artist

Only to listen to their whole catalog and it's all trash

it's fun to be part of an underground scene. niche maxing. I'm too old now to be excited about it but i can imagine if you are 18 and part of some underground scene with some niche hot bitches and ability to stand out with your music. That's sick and massive life fuel

Mainstream music scene is closed off and only open if you have management, money and mass appeal. Pretty much gotta be a good looking guy with skills like singing. even in the underground scenes this is law (good looking guys are most popular there often) but there's more space and more openness and ability to do something new.

It all starts with the underground often and then mainstream artists take elements and mainstreamify it. Although not always

that being said to listen to it is another thing. i don't listen to much underground music anymore as i said it's a young people thing. It's an attempt to break into the world with your own identity. i dont feel connected to that. Often even find it cringe because i already went through that. A lot of it is absolute garbage and only lives in that current scene. It's often simply not good enough to even create mainstream appeal
