Because the closer you are to average height the bigger the impact a few inches can make

If someone is 6’7 and 6’10, the difference wouldn’t matter since they’re both already tall

If someone is 4’2 and 4’7, the difference wouldn’t matter since they’re both already short

But the closer you are to the mean, the bigger the difference appears. Imagine if you were 5’6. Add 3 inches and you’re 5’9. Remove 3 inches and you’re 5’3. Do you see the impact?

yeah makes sense tbh, every inch within the 5'5-5'9 range makes the most exponential impact, then below 5'5 you're a gigamanlet anyways then above 5'9, your most likely going to be fine anyways and its safe

in relative terms yes, depends, if you go from 5'3 to 5'5 you go from a suicidal death tier height to still quite shit but not over tier, 5'6 to 5'8 goes from really bad to okay, what i mean is that it makes a huge difference in your life but if you see a 2 inch height difference by itself it doesnt look like that much just we feel like it is because of our relativity
