why is autism used as an insult ?

it’s obviously not necessarily GOOD, not in a neurotypical world atleast

but the term autism is thrown around as a substitute to calling someone retarded, less intelligent, unaware

isn’t that literally the opposite of what it is? autistic people essentially are just extremely socially high inhib people if you were to oversimplify it, ofc with other factors. but on average wouldnt an autistic person be more intelligent than the average normie? unless they are deep down in the spectrum where they don’t even function as humans but that doesn’t even count
