Chatgpt is a direct consequence of RL papers that ended the AI winter in 2010s. They were the pioneers but that is not guaranteed to stay true if they let other competitors catch up. A few have already done at this point by blatantly copying them

yep. one of the smartest posters, tbh.

still, it's already pretty useful and a huge upgrade from google search, which has been becoming shittier by the day for almost a decade now. i use it (chatgpt) as a weaponized search engine + for brainstorming.

when i was looking for foreign literature on a very specific field in which i'm publishing academic papers, it delivered hard and made me aware of the authors and books i could never find on google. not even on lib-gen, specialized portals and commercial databases.
