What you have in the beginning is investors throwing money at everything, including conmen and projects doomed to fail. This happens with every new wave of technology. Then the dust settles and you get a crash after the bubble.

As far as the timing of this, I can't predict it but it's a general trend.

Eventually after the bubble the market will hit a bottom and recover, then is an optimal time to invest imho. But that's my my hypothesis.

It's down from it's all time high three years ago.

Often investments pump, decline, sideways accumulate until all the short term investors are shaken out, and then pump further surpassing previous highs.

This is much more likely to occur if there's real value to the investment. The internet, Bitcoin, Amazon, and many other examples follow this pattern.

It's because when people recognize something is life changing, they fomo in and cause a bubble, which takes time to recover from.
