Why is Invisalign so expensive and why is my university student coverage nearly useless?

FUCK this shit tbh not only that the uni's site is extremely hard to navigate and I can't find the section that talks about orthodontic insurance coverage so fuck I'll probably have to call them on Monday cuz my unis offices CLOSE on Fridays:feelskek: I'm 19 btw

I'm considering the Invisalign Express one because it seems cheaper
@6ft4 I saw that you had the procedure done. How much did it cost in Ireland, how much did your insurance cover, if you don't mind me asking? Also if you can, would you mind telling me how it is like, does the Invisalign thing improve your jaw structure or do anything else like that related to say the palate? Sorry if that sounds plebeian lol

worth it with mse, especially if your 12-16yo
widens palate, more accurate then braces, improves dental arch, etc. i don't know about jaw however
mogger if you get the mandibular advancement one tbh
just don't get extractions, elastics may or may not be fine, i'm using them though

I got invisalign in Belgium and I am paying for all of it myself
The price is €7k, yes that's right seven fucking thousand euro
I had to go with an ortho that knows how to prepare me for surgery and my surgeon was adamant on picking that ortho
It is bringing my mandible more forward so returning to it's natural position because my first round of orthodontics recessed my mandible in an attempt to line it up with my recessed maxilla
My life has been one tragic fuckup after another, I don't care about the price of this shit so long as I get the surgery and finally escape
I am raging rather hard right now

I see and it seems like it's a valuable enough procedure to get for adults as well seeing as that you're willing to pay out of pocket for it. I have a narrow palate which is a flaw so I'm thinking about getting this procedure to help widen it, for aesthetic purposes and I think I may also have a slight overbite which I think this also alleviates. 7000 CAD is the cost of a full Invisaligh treatment while its 9000 CAD in Belgium.

I will strongly consider getting this procedure done, thanks for your input man(y)

which procedure?

I thought that's considered a treatment moreso than a procedure
Perhaps you're right, I guess I called it a procedure because I read that it takes like qutie a while for it to work and that you have to go for new invisalign products every 2 months or so....

I see shit like this for €2k which was warping my cost perception but to be fair that probably only applies to the most simple cases

Now that I searched for the price in my own country it probably works out the same
I would be in the complex case

Does it fix deep bite too? Or just normal braces are okay?
