Why can't chasing optimum aesthetics be its own goal in of itself? What if the goal is legit just become an aesthetic sick kunt and don't give a fuck about anything else...

Yes, this is true with any constant stimulus increasing happiness tonically. The receptors related to the happiness downregulate and you need a higher intensity of the same stimulus to get the same signal that you got before.

If you are experiencing anxiety or pain from your looks, then increasing your looks can get rid of these permanently, but that is because the way our bodies deal with pain and pleasure aren't symmetric.
