are you using retinol or any harsh chemicals on your face? ive found that consistently irritating your skin can actually make it overproduce more melanin and cause hyperpigmentation

even if not tanning, do you wear sunscreen regularly? i don’t just mean on sunny days, but every day, multiple applications, regardless of weather, and spf 50+ pa+?

if you’re excessively irritating your skin and not applying sunscreen religiously you’re gonna make your skin quality worse

I just wash my face with water. But when I put shampoo on, it runs down my face. Maybe that’s the problem? I also feel like whenever I wash my face with water, whether it’s warm or cold, it always feels like it’s irritating my skin. And then I get pimples in the morning

I'm kinda scared that if I use sunscreen too often it'll turn me gay or my increase estrogen cuz of the chemicals :feelshaha: So I just stay home or wear a mask

hyperpigmentation thrives on dry skin

water, especially the hardness and temperature of water, soaps, shampoos, air, humidity, all of these factors can affect the dryness of your skin. your skin is constantly exposed to the elements

pimples can often leave hyperpigmented marks, sometimes lasting weeks or months. i would recommend a consistent, yet safe solution of arbutin acid, or kojic acid if you want to go a little stronger. don’t leave kojic acid on your skin for more than 30 seconds

you haven’t told me about your sunscreen use

no please no

put on that spf now! you cannot be looksmaxxing but still allowing your skin to get molested by the sun. you must wear it everyday! regardless of weather! if you’re mainly outdoors, reapply every 2 hours. uva rays can penetrate windows and reflect on different surfaces, worsening skin damage and collagen loss even if indoors

I don't really leave th house so I don't use it much but whenever I go out I apply it but sometimes I forget to reapply it and also my skin gets really oily from the heat. I think central asia isn't the place for me tbh it's extremely hot here it's brutal

yes sunscreen absolutely is a life saver! i never really used it until 2 years ago. before then people used to guess me as being older than i really was. nowadays most people correctly guess my age or even a year or two younger!

the best treatment is prevention. the earlier you start the better. don’t underestimate it, start now!

my skin is quite oily naturally but it was worse a few years ago. be consistent and things should be fine. i live in the uk so things are different here compared to your homeland. you could ask someone online who lives in a similar climate to you
