Ramos is the same but still had other things like positioning and build up but pepe's tactic was just fouling the attacking forwards by pushing them to the side, injuring their ankles, kicking their knees and sometimes even pulling them by their shirt collars. Maldini is much better than both. He was proper defender wirh clean surgical tackles, world class positioning and interception

He wasn’t bad but very overrated. Ramos was very good though. He also contributed well to attack and even scored lots of goals.

I mean there is no real problem with maldini. When he was young he was an athletic 1v1 machine. Then he eventually adapted to a giga high iq positional defender as he aged, hence why he started and won a ucl final at 39.
