you seem confused, let me explain this to you:

retinol is about 20x weaker than tretinoin. Even tretinoin at 0.1% strength is not guaranteed to get rid of your wrinkles or acne or whatever.

The idea that a - lets say - 0.1% retinol is going to do anything except cost you money is therefore ludicrious.

Retinol is a moneygrab, hence why some retinol products cost up to 5 times more than much more effective prescription tretinoin.

On top of that, OTC retinol products dont even have to prove that they are effective. The companies can basically claim whatever they want.

Bottom line: Even prescription tretinoin is not that great. Retinoids do help but are no wonder weapon in any case.
