If you mean when you go abroad it's probably because Italy hasn't really offended any countries since WW2 Most Italians speak a lingua franca with the rest of the world. Most Italians are decent looking, they can fit in with both ethnics and whites. And visiting Italy is nice, nice culture, nice food, nice wealth level, nice people, nice history etc.

I think america has a big part to play. Italy has a long history of influence across the world but modern italy for the most part was made popular and trendy because of italian immigrants in america. Just think about how many italian reataurants are here, how many italian mob movies and tv shows they made, how many big figures in politics, sports, acting, etc are italian. If you live outside europe chances are your idea of Italy is pretty much shaped by american media and culture, and they have a really cool image according to that.
