They are considered to be impure because of their saliva. But if a dog’s wet and it touches you, your clothes become impure, too; not fit for prayer (cleanliness is most important, you can’t even fart; if you do, you enter a state of uncleanliness and have to ritually cleanse yourself again).

it says dogs saliva is unsanitary and that it should be washed off, having a dog in your house would get that saliva over the house so it doesn't directly say not to keep dogs in your house it basically dose tho
