Because people think using a linear scale is good; if we used a logarithmic scale for ratings there wouldn't be such a discrepancy because of rating deflation. Subjectively speaking most actors are 5/10 on a linear scale when compared to top-tier supermodels, which are a 1 in a million.

because the PSL scale is retarded as fuck. since im on this forum, nobody knows if its irl score * 1.25 or irl score * 1.5. also they always discuss if psl goes from 1-8 or 1-10.

5 is above average on the PSL scale. Most actors aren't also Brad Pitt tier; you're subliminally thinking most actors are like that—which isn't the case. In general, 5,being a bit above average in PSL terms, fits them when people like Chico are considered an 8 PSL.
