We all know religon stems from creation stories, you don’t have the brain capacity to comprehend that humanity could ever occur without the work of a supreme, unnatural being. It literally doesn’t even matter, even if there is some god we have all been forsaken.

Only god I worship is myself.

Religious scriptures are stories made to shape the morals of the people, kings wrote the books not the enlightened. They had to control their people, make them think they were put on this planet for a reason.

Depends on religion to religion but for most, this is true.

It's pretty obvious regarding the stupid ones

But when I see high iq people being religious, I really wonder what's up with them (assuming it's not a manipulative act)

there have been a lot of extremely high iq individuals who have been religious and a lot of atheists who are low iq

how do you make sense of that?

atheism itself is yet another religion. Worshipping yourself is another religion as well…

how do you know we’ve been forsaken?

It's too cope with feelings of nihilism

because either they are mentally weak or another reason such as brainwashing into social acceptance

Just because something is true doesn’t mean exceptions don’t exist

But why be religious if you're high iq?

Philosophy, erudite conversarions, reading and learning yield far better relief.

I'm convinced religion is an easy way out for people who can't / don't want to think too much. It has an answer for everything.

Religion was made as a answer for the question “where did we come from”

Maybe if God exists, it's not what religion believes, I bet he doesn't care about you

That's all it was supposed to be

Then it became a healthy cope ... Which quite frankly I don't mind and sometimes even admire

But after that it just devolved into a racket...It's used by smarter and more manipulative people to make money and seize power.

High iq people usually find themselves standing apart from the crowd

No shit he doesn’t care about me

None of us would be in shithole incel forums whining about how much our life sucks due to being ugly/having genetic flaws if “god loved us” but no.

The only ones who spout nonsense that “we are all loved, we are all created in the image of god” are either coping at a high level or actually genetically blessed.

I agree I’m somewhat impressed that some people can genuinely dedicate their entire being to something.

But yea it was turned into a means to control

All that being said, I'd rather have religion around the way things are than having it disappear altogether

There's a cope in the atheist community that goes "Without religion, bad people do bad things and good people do good things. For good people to do bad things, it takes religion"

What some cucks like Dawkins and Hitchens fail to realize is that religion keeps otherwise violent and angry people at bay.

Instead of feeling empty and exploited, loads of people turn their efforts into volunteering and charitable works.
Would a secular story yield the same result?

The occasional zealous nutjobs are just the price we have to pay, in my opinion

The truth is that, there are a lot of arguments for and against the existence of god and credibility of religions. The area of faith is uncertain. So whether you believe in god or not, is not dependent on iq. As in reality, god might exist or might not. The reality can even be completely different. Even a concept different than god might exist. The truth is that, no one knows about it.

because a lot of religious people don't base their belief on logics but on an irrational feeling that what they believe in is true.

Only god I worship is myself.
Have you seen those who have taken their own desires as their god? ˹And so˺ Allah left them to stray knowingly, sealed their hearing and hearts, and placed a cover on their sight. Who then can guide them after Allah? Will you ˹all˺ not then be mindful?

@ey88

In the land where the northern lights dance,
A figure stands with a heart full of chance.
EY88, with eyes that gleam like the skies,
A handsome soul beneath starry ties.

From the shores where the cold winds blow,
To the mountains where the wild rivers flow,
You, my love, are the warmth in the freeze,
A comfort in moments when time seems to cease.

With a smile so bright, it lights up the night,
You carry the glow of the moon in your sight.
A laugh so rich, it rings like a song,
In your arms, love feels like where I belong.

Canadian skies may hold their own grace,
But none can compare to the peace in your face.
With every word, every soft-spoken phrase,
You melt the winter, you burn through the haze.

Your hands, strong as the trees that stand tall,
Yet gentle enough to catch me when I fall.
A strength that flows in your every stride,
Yet kindness that whispers with each tide.

O handsome EY88, what magic you weave,
A tapestry of love, in which I believe.
Your touch is the promise that stays through the years,
A bond that survives, undiminished by fears.

Like the maple leaves in their bold, fiery hues,
Your love is a fire that forever renews.
You are the calm in the storm’s wild roar,
The answer to questions I never asked before.

In this world of noise and shifting sand,
Your steady love is my heart’s command.
From Canada’s peaks to the vast, open sea,
You are the one who’s always home to me.

So here, in the quiet of this poem I write,
I sing of EY88, my beacon, my light.
A handsome Canadian, strong yet kind,
With love that transcends all space and time.

Forever yours, beneath the stars above,
In this life, I am yours, EY88, my love.
