Which leads to the other benefit. To have the greatest success, you need to have repeated interactions and cooperation with other agents (humans). Once your actions have been discovered, then the other agents that operate off of a basic premis of empathy will not want to cooperate with you because their good will would not be reciprocated.

This means more selfish agents, who wish to scam you and use you will be the only ones willing to cooperate with you. An example of this would be your meat eater cult leader SV3rge. He wound up with a sociopath girlfriend who believed in his selfish philosophy, that ruined his life, and generally has a miserable life.

Other examples would be all the people who believed in Ayn Rand's virtue of selfishness who are now sitting in jail because they wound up taking things too far.
