A good way to measure crime is maybe to look at homicide rate imo. Obviously it is possible that it might not be correlated to assault, battery, robbery, mugging (not mogging, but mugging), etc.

For Turkey homicide victims per 100k inhabitants is 2.59. For the US it's 4.59, For Spain, Switzerland Luxembourg and Germany it's 0.62, 0.59, 0.30 and 0.95 respectively.

South America seems crazy insane on crime though. Way more dangerous than Africa and everywhere else on earth. Colombia = 25.35, Brazil = 29.38, Venezuela = 50, Mexico = 30, Honduras = 40, El Salvdor = 52. Meanwhile for Africa: Kenya = 4.93, Rwanda = 2.52 (safer than Turkey JFL), Uganda = 10.42, Nigeria = 9.58, Tanzania = 6.95, South Africa 36.40. For Asia: Japan = 0.26, China = 0.52, South Korea = 0.6

Obviously some of the numbers might not be accurate, and it's idk if it's just general for the countries, or if they've looked at cities or whatever. Some cities are probably worse than others etc.
