Why tf is privately sitting alevels so expensive

I was considering sitting alevels privately next year so I could get a job.
I learn alot better on my own so it makes sense.
It costs £1000 per alevel. (£3000 in total).
Their only costs are hiring some 60 year old woman to make sure you don't cheat during the exam fuck this shit.

Its what you do from 16-18 in the uk(assuming you didn't go college for a trade)
You need them to go uni or get a higher apprenticeship. I could do them for free if I stay in school but then it's hard to get a job
