5'8"-5'9" is not short, it's like, very average, but how do you think short men come to exist? They come from an average height parent, and they had to reproduce somehow, there's also a reason why that's the average height, because most people are that height, it would be physically impossible that "short" men weren't getting love in the situation you propose.

If you're short, you can compensate with a good face, the same way women can compensate being flat with their face. It's not ideal, but it's better than other. The fact that you get no love is likely not only because of your height... So I'd suggest you pick a struggle, either you're short or you're ugly, not both.
