It’s not something people like to talk about, but sometimes those who feel unattractive can end up resenting the opposite gender or even people in general. A lot of that comes from how they’ve been treated because of their appearance (“lookism”), especially during key stages like childhood or adolescence, though it can carry on into adulthood too.
You can see this in everyday situations. For example, an attractive girl might have a friend who feels less attractive and is overweight, and that friend may act cold, rude, or even try to push others away from her. Often, that kind of behavior comes from jealousy or from not having received the same attention or affection.
It’s a sad situation, honestly. If there’s any takeaway, it’s that we should make an effort not to judge or treat people based on how they look. It’s not always easy these reactions can become a kind of defense mechanism but letting that mindset take over only makes things worse for everyone.
