I can understand surviving the apocalypse and you share your tent with her. You met her earlier at the drugstore that's been wiped clean. You leave the tent to put more wood into the fire. You return and see her underwear next to the blanket-bed. She's lying on her side donned in a long T-shirt. She pats your side to come lay down. You look back at the underwear and it reminds you, "Ah, yes, surviving the apocalypse."
