JAW SURGERY BENEFITS THREAD

Written from the heart by Adee
Straightforward, based on personal experience + advice.

AIRWAY AND BREATHING BENEFITS

In most jaw surgery cases we see a significant improvement in airway volume = more oxygen delivered throughout the night = feeling more rested, increased energy, and better brain function during the day.
Even if you’re not experiencing any sleep apnea symptoms right now, they may develop in the future due to muscles getting weaker, weight gain, or other factors.

VOICE IMPROVEMENTS

Voice changes - your voice can become more prominent.
Some of my friends who underwent jaw surgery, especially in crowded places, say that their voice now carries better and they no longer struggle to be heard. I also noticed this when having conversations with one.

Better pronunciation – clearer articulation of words.
This improvement is almost guaranteed.

TMJ AND MUSCLE TENSION RELIEF

We can name two types of tension or pain:

Related to TMJ (your jaw joints)
If the problem originates from the joint and it is addressed by replacing/correcting it, TMJ issues usually will disappear completely.

Muscle-related tension
This usually results from improper jaw positioning or tongue posture.
When the jaw is moved forward (maxilla adjustment), the tongue gains more space, adopts a natural position, and muscle tension is typically relieved.

Segmental lefort expansion can also help the tongue reposition correctly, further reducing tension.
Segmental lefort expansion can also significantly improve nasal breathing due to expansion and widening of the nasal cavity.

PHYSICAL / COSMETIC CHANGES

Significant improvements in facial aesthetics - improvement of overall facial harmony, asymmetry is reduced.

!READ THIS!

Some people believe that implants can replace jaw surgery or that jaw surgery is unrealistic to get for the average person.
That is not the case at all.

Stop relying on random forum or discord recommendations about whether you would benefit from bimaxillary surgery or implants.

I want you to:
Get a craniofacial CBCT scan
Have at least two consultations with an experienced maxillofacial surgeons

Consider an online consultation with someone who can properly analyze your CBCT instead of relying only on a local general clinic.

CBCT SCAN USES

CBCT scans are useful for:

Planning your custom implants in the future
Jaw surgery planning
Airway assessment
Bite analysis
Bone structure evaluation in relation to soft tissue

Expand me
I am someone who is recessed and a victim of “average” orthodontic treatment methods that only made my teeth and muscle pain worse.

When I was younger and less educated on all the topics, I also thought I could camouflage everything with a genioplasty and implants. It took me years to realize that those were just my delusions. People were also telling me to get implants.

I’ve had more than 10 consultations with my local orthodontists and maxillofacial surgeons. All of them were telling me that I didn’t need jaw surgery or that I would need to decomp my teeth for 18+ months before the surgery. That's when I started reaching out to abroad surgeons - here, half of the surgeons agreed for the surgery with surgery first approach.
So, don't give up.
And please, stop blindly relying only on one opinion.

Only you truly know your symptoms and how you feel. At the same time, do not rely on random local or foreign surgeons.

I backed out multiple times. I almost went through with a revision rhinoplasty with genioplasty, thankfully I canceled everything two weeks prior the surgery. I’m grateful for the mistakes I made.

MY TRIMAX IS IN JUNE THIS YEAR
