Found this blog site off reddit comment, it's written by a founder of Okcupid

Explains really well the economics of OLD and how they make money off NOT finding you a match


I don't how good okcupid is today, since they got bought out by same company that owns other major dating apps, bit someone obviously saved a blog

The founder used to write more of these kind of blog posts but they got deleted after he sold the company


The only time I would recommend you pay for it, if you regularly get matches and go on dates, otherwise you just throwing money away

Nothing's wrong with paying if you have 100 plus likes. A few of my friends have those numbers and makes it much easier.

true, but this is only the case if you're already doing well on them

For vast majority of men, OLD is useless
