the width of the chin matters more than the height tbh but to answer the question a good wide jaw makes up for quite a lot of sub-par traits, one of which is ofc the short chin you asked about

Short chin + robust wide jaw would look straight up ridiculous, 0 angularity whatsoever, at least v-shaped narrowish jaw could look somewhat harmonious with it.
